Gerhard Hanappi stadium is located in Hutteldorf, in the west of Vienna.The stadium is the home ground of soccer team Rapid Vienna, and was opened in 1977.When the stadium was first opened it was called the "Westadion" (Western Stadium).In 1980 it was renamed to the Gerhard Hanappi Stadium, to honour its architect, legendary Austrian soccer player Gerhard Hanappi.
