Description:
The Hypo Group Arena is a stadium in Klagenfurt, Austria. It is the home ground of football (soccer) SK Austria Kärnten and will host the 2008 European Championship. The stadium was built on the site of Wörtherseestadion which was built in 1960 and demolished in 2005. After the event, the stadium will be reduced to a capacity of 12,500. The official opening was on the 07 September 2007 and hosted a friendly between Austria and Japan in front of 26,500 spectators.
