Description:
Built for the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, it was supposed to be the first ever retractable roofed stadium. However, the concept didn't work and was eventually scrapped in 1998 when a permenant roof was put in place. Since its groundbreaking, the Olympic Stadium has cost over $1 billion Canadian. Between 1977 and 2004 it was home of the Montreal Expos of Major League Baseball before that team left for Washington DC in the USA.
